The Spirit of ‘76: Adam Smith, Thomas Jefferson, and the American Founding

In celebration of the 250th anniversary year of both the Declaration of Independence and Adam Smith’s Wealth of Nations, this panel will explore the intellectual, moral, and political convergences between Thomas Jefferson, Adam Smith, and the broader American Founding.  Panelists will discuss the commonalities between Smith’s moral and economic thought and the principles articulated in the Declaration of Independence.
