Ali Salman is co-founder and Director General of Islam and Liberty Network, a global platform for researchers and academics active in the Muslim majority countries exploring and promoting a Muslim case for religious, economic and political freedoms. Ali has more than 22 years of diverse experience in the think tanks, private sector, government and academia. He is the author of “Islam and Economics: Markets, Morality and Justice” published by Acton Institute in 2021, and has been subsequently translated in several languages. Ali Salman is also the founder and Executive Director of Policy Research Institute of Market Economy (PRIME), an independent economic policy think tank in Islamabad. PRIME is ranked amongst top 100 think tanks in Asia-Pacific region. Ali has served as CEO of Malaysia’s prominent independent think tank, Institute for Democracy and Economic Affairs (IDEAS) from 2018-2020.
