Historically, technology and innovation are commonly linked with material and social prosperity. For nearly 100 years, economists and business leaders have been heralding that advances in technology will fundamentally change the amount of time spent at, as well as the way, humans "work." The word "Abundance" is coming back into vogue in business and tech circles which has revived this optimism in yet another chapter to the same narrative. Are we finally on the cusp of a technologically fueled revolution in the way we work? Join this lecture to explore the connections between economic predictions (Are 15-hour work weeks on the horizon?) and historic reality as we discuss technological change and human vocation.
