Self-styled  “post-liberals” have criticized the American founding as a fatally flawed Enlightenment project, rooted in the false, radically individualist anthropology of “liberalism” as they define it.  This lecture will approach this question of liberalism and the American Founding by steering it toward events and experience and the application of virtues like prudence, and away from these overly theoretical and reductionist approaches.
