Alexis de Tocqueville: The Man and His Times

Alexis de Tocqueville addressed the democratic dislocations of his time, and ours as well, with incisive commentary on how democratic life can make us crazy. More importantly, Tocqueville saw that the unstable conditions of democracy reflected the unstable condition of human beings, a subset of the spiritual unrest that afflicts us all.
