The Very Reverend Michael Butler, Ph.D. is an archpriest of the Orthodox Church in America. He has a B.A. in psychology from the University of Dallas, an M.A. in theology from the University of Dallas, and a Ph.D. in church history and patristics from Fordham University, where he wrote his dissertation on St. Maximus the Confessor. He has served parishes in Jackson, Mich., and Olmsted Falls, OH; he currently serves in Livonia, Mich. He taught as an adjunct professor in the religion department of Baldwin-Wallace College in Berea, Ohio, and currently works with the late vocations program for his diocese training men for diaconal ministry. He has been a parish priest for more than 20 years.
