Justin Beene lives with his wife, Karianne and their two children, Jelani and Cheyenne, in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He holds a Bachelors of Social Work and Family Studies from Western Michigan University, a Masters in Social Work in Management of Human Services from the University of Michigan, a Master's of Arts in Ministry Leadership from Grand Rapids Theological Seminary, a Doctorate in Transformational Leadership with a focus in Entrepreneurial Transformation from Bakke Graduate University. Justin is the Director/Founder of a partnership called the Grand Rapids Center for Community Transformation, a collective between a non-profit, Bethany Christian Services, two social enterprises, Building Bridges Professional Services & Rising Grinds Cafe, a for-profit, Double O Supply and Craftsman, and Tabernacle Community Church; together partners work to create flourishing in the city of Grand Rapids. Justin is the Vice President of the Board of Mosaic Christian Community Development Association in Benton Harbor, Mich., serves on the Board of the Grand Rapids Nehemiah Project in Grand Rapids, MI, and serves on the International Advisory Board for Center for Transforming Mission in Guatemala City.
Justin is a visionary and practitioner with extensive knowledge and skills in starting and scaling social enterprises, utilizing multiple forms of funding for collaborative projects, creating win/win solutions across sectors, and connecting resources to real problems in innovative and sustainable ways.
