James E. Bruce, Ph.D. is an associate professor of philosophy at John Brown University. He studied at Dartmouth College, the University of Oxford, and Baylor University. His first book, Rights in the Law (2013), considers the relationship between morality and God’s free choices. His second book, in progress, considers the way that thoughts about distributive justice influence theological beliefs. He writes a monthly piece for WORLD magazine and writes occasionally for Law & Liberty. He is licensed to preach by Covenant Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church in America.
