A Borderline Utopia: Can Individual Freedom Survive in the Absence of National Sovereignty?

Session 6
to
Advanced Course

Since the Brexit in Europe and the inauguration of Donald Trump’s presidency in the United States, the conflict between the supporters of borderless countries (such as those belonging to the Schengen area) and the defenders of traditional nation-states has escalated quite dramatically. Terrorist cells have surreptitiously abused EU’s policy, which defended the free movement of people. This talk will make the argument that for the sake of preserving individual freedom and safety, nation-states must restore their claim to political sovereignty, over against any globalist or internationalist philosophy.
