New Institutional Economics

Session 11 - Friday, June 23 -
3:45 PM to 5:05 PM

Intensive Course

The contemporary field of economics is coming to a point of realizing that mere positivism, with its focus on empirical data and factors like supply, demand, capital and labor are necessary, but not sufficient conditions to explain why some economies grow and others do not. The study of New Institutional Economics realizes that factors like religion, morality, law and politics play an important role in economic growth.
